General Notes: Husband - John H. Shryock

For several years he was extensively engaged in manufacturing in West Indiana, Pennsylvania. He was the proprietor of a large saw mill, planing mill and foundry. He had, in 1857, a large contract from the general government for the manufacture of "Utah" wagons. He was a quartermaster during the Civil War. He had a stroke of paralysis some years before his death, which rendered him almost helpless.
