General Notes: Husband - Jacob A. Mowry

As a boy came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, with his parents, the family homestead being first located in Hempfield Township. After his marriage Mr. Mowry established himself at Sheakleyville, where for many years he followed his trade as a blacksmith. When he abandoned this avocation he commenced farming in Pymatuning Township, in which he continued for fifteen years prior to his death. The last eleven years of his life were spent as a virtual invalid, his condition being brought about because of a serious injury which he sustained in an accident, and during about half of this period the affairs of the farm were actively managed by his son, George A. He was a Republican, and a member of the Lutheran church.
