General Notes: Husband - William Whitman

---

An orphan child, he was taken from a charitable institution and brought by a family named Sears to Kinzua, Warren County, PA, in 1827. He was an industrious lad, and worked around the town, and saved his earnings. At the end of his life his farm comprised seventy-eight acres nicely located on Kinzua Run. He was at one time connected with the M. E. Church, and was a class leader, but with­drew some years before his death.
