General Notes: Husband - Leonard Smith

After his parents settled near Chicora, Butler County, PA, he went to school in the village and also attended school after the family removed to Brady's Bend. After his marriage, he moved to Troutman Hollow and worked for two years as a teamster in the oil fields, after which he purchased a farm of fifty acres. This was unimproved land and he had to clear it and erect farm buildings.
