General Notes: Husband - Samuel B. Reed

He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and was educated in the public schools of East Huntingdon township. In early life he was employed for five or six years in the coke works of his native county, and then entered the service of the firm of Ruth & Stoner, by whom he was first employed at general work, and later promoted to the turning lathe. He remained with them eighteen years, retiring from their service December 23, 1904. Following this he was employed by the United States Casket Company as foreman of the cutting out department. He belonged to the I. O. O. F., Lodge No. 885, and the Heptasophs, both of Scottdale. In the former organization he passed all chairs. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Scottdale, and was connected with the official board.
