General Notes: Husband - Archie J. Baringer

Unk newspaper,
Archie J. Baringer
Archie J. Baringer has become the second victim of defective Akron structures. Caught be-neath a falling marquee of a downtown theater last March 17, he suffered major injuries. Tuesday night he died, following an attack of pneu-monia which he could not combat in his weakened condition. Franklin Clayton was the first victim. He was killed instantly by bricks falling from a S. Main st. structure earlier in March. The tragic irony of the second fatality is that the accident which caused it occurred during the progress of repair work ordered as a result of the inspection survey following the death of Clayton.
Baringer's tragic passing will be deeply felt by his wide circle of friends. Born in Warren 60 years ago, he had lived in the Akron district since boyhood. He entered the railroad business here at the early age of 15 and at the time of his death had been employed in the Akron division of the Pennsylvania railroad for more than 40 years. He will be widely mourned.
It is impossible to bring either of the two men back to life. But in the second death, as with the first, the absolute need for finishing all required repairs is demonstrated anew. If delinquent owners choose to disregard the obvious need for haste, they should be made to suffer the consequences.
