General Notes: Husband - Alexander J. Simpson

He moved with his parents to Butler County, Pennsylvania, in childhood. They located three miles from Butler. In that county he grew to maturity and passed the remainder of his life. He was a carpenter and one of the well-known hotel keepers of his adopted county. For several years he conducted the Simpson hotel at the old homestead. In 1869 he removed to Murrinsville, where he died, dying as he had lived, a faithful member of the Catholic church. He was one of the active Democrats of the county and a delegate to the national convention at Charleston, South Carolina, in 1860. [HVC 1890, 828]
