General Notes: Husband - Jacob Myers

He resided with his widowed mother until he reached manhood. After marriage, he and his wife located on a homestead in 1847, and there, by industry and good management, he acquired a fine farm of ninety-one acres of fertile and well improved land, on which they erected a fine residence and made other valuable improvements. They owned another farm of eighty-six acres, also in Dickinson Township, Cumberland County.
He was a member of the German Baptist Church. In politics he is a Democrat. He filled the office of school director for many years. He devoted a great deal of attention to the education of his children; his son David was for many years before his death a very successful teacher in Cumberland County.
