General Notes: Husband - Jerry Myers

He received his early education in the common schools of Somerset township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. In 1862 he enlisted in Company E, Twenty-second Pennsylvania Calvary, under Capt. J. T. Chessrown, and took part in all the principal battles, and many skirmishes, of the West Virginia campaign, serving until the close of the war. In 1865 he returned home and resumed his agricultural duties.
