Myers, Solomon A.
Our aged neighbor, Solomon A. Myers, died at his home near here on December 7 at 10:30, aged 83.
Mr. Myers had been in ill health from infirmities due to advanced age for some months. He was born near Myers mill location and had resided there ever since. He was a splendid miller and operated and managed his mill which did a large business, up until a short time before the death of his son Marion, who had taken over the responsibilities because of the father's failing health. After Marion's death, the business of the mill was taken over by another son, Ora Myers. Mr. Myers was widely known throughout a wide section of the country and enjoyed a large circle of friendship. His wife, Catherine Jane Weaver, preceded him to the grave some years ago. He was the father of a large family of children of whom the following survive: Mrs. Clara Cooper, Vernon J., John S., Mrs. Grace Stevens. Also one sister, Mrs. Sam Pyle, near Van. Funeral services were conducted at the Myers residence on Dec. 9, by Rev. Marlowe. Interment was made in the Myers Cemetery in charge of the F & AM., he being one of the oldest members of the Myrtle Lodge of Franklin.
