General Notes: Husband - Elias Shanor

He was born in Lancaster township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, there attending school and growing to manhood, later purchasing one hundred and fifty acres of land in Conoquenessing township. He resided in that locality until 1876, when he and his family moved to Clark County, Iowa, settling on a farm of considerable size near Osceola. In his agricultural operations he prospered, and with a comfortable competence he lived retired in Ashland, Nebraska, he and his wife spending their latter years in ease and comfort, both having lived active, useful lives, the parents of nine children, all of whom attained maturity. Both in their earlier years were members of the Lutheran Church, although they afterward became regular attendants at the Methodist Episcopal Church. His political sympathies inclined toward the Republican party, to which he always gave his support.
