General Notes: Husband - William E. Simpson

He acquired his elementary education in the district schools near his home, and afterward spent a few terms in study in the County Academy. He was reared to farming, but early in life began school teaching, and followed that pursuit for eighteen or twenty terms, being recognized as one of the successful educators of the county. During the summer months he worked at farming; he owned two hundred acres of good land, which was under a high state of cultivation.
He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church, and in politics Mr. Simpson was a stanch Republican. He was school director twenty years, and held all of the township offices.
