General Notes: Husband - Alvertus O'Dell

He was born in Cattaraugus, New York, and came to live in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. He received his early education in the public schools, and then learned the trade of a cooper. During the civil war he served for eighteen months in the Federal army, and then settled on a farm in Crawford County, which he cultivated for many years, and then retired from active pursuits. He was a Republican in politics, and a Methodist in religion.
