General Notes: Husband - John Harding Page


He was educated under the celebrated Dr. Alexander Campbell at Buffalo Seminary, later called Bethany, West Virginia. Much of his life was devoted to benevolent work, especially to improvement of the moral and spiritual conditions of prisoners in the jail, where he visited regularly, supplying the sick with needed attentions and comforts. He was for many years prominent as an active and devoted member of Christ Methodist Episcopal Church, then at Pennsylvania avenue and Eighth street, Pittsburgh. Being in comfortable circumstances by inheritance from both his father and father-in-law, Mr. Page early retired from active business life to his country seat. "The Jingle" (later in Pittsburgh, South Side), where he died.
