General Notes: Husband - John Orr

He was born in County Down, Ireland, and was a mere lad when his father died. His mother was subsequently remarried and moved to America, finally locating at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she passed away. John followed his mother to the United States when he was about twenty-one years of age, and he too took up his residence in Pittsburgh. He worked in the stone quarry there for about fourteen years, making fuses. Shortly after his marriage he moved to Butler County, in 1840, and purchased a farm in Mercer Township. There he and his wife passed the remainder of their lives.
