General Notes: Husband - George W. Barnes


He was raised on a farm and always followed farming as an occupation. He was in the War of the Rebellion, having enlisted March 12, 1864, in Company A, One Hundred and Twenty-first Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; was in the campaign of the Wilderness, Spottsylvania, Petersburg, Weldon Railroad, Hatcher’s Run and many other engagements; was honorably discharged in July 1865. He settled in Hayfield Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1869. He held the offices of Supervisor and School Director. In politics he was a Republican.
