General Notes: Husband - Michael Painter

He owned the grist mill and farm at Manor Station and the farm in Penn township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, later owned by the heirs of R. A. Hope. The elder Painters were granted a warrant for the Painter homestead, called "Partnership," situated on the turnpike adjoining the village of Grapeville, and built a stone house in 1783 that was still standing into the twentieth century.
