General Notes: Husband - Leonard Marcus Stright

He spent his lifetime lumbering and farming. One of his first experiences in lumbering was in the stave mill of W. J. Fell and Co. in West Virginia. In 1885 he was in Nebraska and from 1887 to 1889 in West Virginia. In 1893 they moved to the McCoy house in Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania, when he worked in a sawmill in Deer Creek Township which he and W. S. Stright owned. In 1894 he moved to my mother's house in the north end of Sheakleyville. He was in West Virginia in 1896 and returned in May, 1897. He spent a short time in Alabama that summer. In 1898 he was very ill with typhoid fever. When he had recovered the family moved to Parker's Landing, Butler County, for a year, then moved to the place refered to as "the woods," located near Geneva in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. They lived there five years. Together with Bert and Harry Minnis, operating as the Stright and Minnis Lumber Company, they cut the timber from the property. In November, 1904, they moved to Sheakleyville where they lived in the Wiley house and in April, 1906, he purchased the Morrison farm west of Greenville. They lived there until October, 1911, when the farm was sold. That winter they lived in Greenville; in May, 1912, he bought the Reed farm north of Greenville, east of the St. Paul's Orphan Home. He lived there until November, 1936, when he and his wife moved to Greenville to live with their daughter, Nola, and her husband Arthur R. Stewart and daughter.
He was a faithful member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was elected to the Grand Lodge from Sheakleyville. Both he and his wife were members of the First Baptist Church of Greenville.

General Notes: Wife - Cora Ione Palm

When she was twelve years old her mother died of tuberculosis. She then lived with her grandmother, Mary McLaughlin Morford. In 1891 her grandmother moved to Meadville where she died the following year. At that time Cora moved to Greenville where she lived with the William Washburn family. Although she did not teach school she passed the teachers examination when she was sixteen.
Later in life she had crippling arthritis and by 1924 required the use of a wheel chair. Seven years later she was in the wheel chair day and night.

Notes: Marriage

They attended the World's Fair in Chicago with Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Morford the summer following their marriage as a delayed honeymoon.
