General Notes: Husband - William M. Parks

As a young man he assisted his father in the work on the farm, and in the meantime learned the trade of shoemaker. He continued to live with his father until the time of his marriage when he bought his father-in-law's farm in Cook township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, a property of one hundred acres which was pretty well cleared of wood. Part of this farm he later disposed of and then bought the old homestead farm of his father and made his home there. He afterwards sold out and retired from active farm life and resided at Millbank, in Ligonier township.
He was a Republican in politics. He belonged to Mount Pleasant Lodge, No. 100, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. In his religious belief he was a Methodist, and for many years was class leader of the Sunday school in the church at Stahlstown. He was also superintendent of the Sunday school and steward of the church.
