General Notes: Husband - Maj. James Patton


In 1827, he was chosen major of the first battalion, 118th regiment, Pennsylvania militia. He was appointed collector of canal and railroad tolls, at Columbia, by Governor Porter, in 1839. He was active in promoting the transportation system of the state, which resulted in the organization of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company.
