General Notes: Husband - John Paxton


He was a native of York County, Pennsylvania, and came to Washington County in 1782. After marriage, he and his wife settled in Chartiers township, where they later died.

He arrived in Washington County, Pennsylvania, from York County, in the year 1782. He was married there, and some time after located on a farm in what is now Canton Township; they later came to Chartiers Township.


General Notes: Wife - Martha Paxton


From York, Pennsylvania, she crossed the mountains on horseback, coming to Washington County, when still a child.
