He was a graduate of Thiel College and also a graduate of the University at Cleveland, Ohio, from the medical department, with the class of 1900. He then located in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and engaged in the practice of his profession.

After passing through the Greenville public schools he graduated from Thiel College in 1896, and at once entered the Western Reserve Medical College of Cleveland, Ohio, where he was graduated in 1900. He immediately entered upon the practice of his profession at Greenville, where he became an active factor in civil and municipal life, as well as professional. He was a director of the First National Bank of Greenville. He was a member of the American Medical Association, Pennsylvania State Medical Association, Mercer County Medical Association, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, N. S. N., a medical college fraternity, also the Greenville Country Club. His religious connection was with the Presbyterian Church.
