General Notes: Husband - A. H. Sarver


He was reared on the family homestead and attended school at Prospect, Pennsylvania, after which he followed school teaching for four years. He then engaged in the carriage business at Ekastown, Butler County, and later was with the firm of Martincourt & Company, at Butler, for eight years. Still later he was manager for the Durant-Dorit Carriage Company of Flint, Michigan, for the district embraced by Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Then for seventeen years or more he was manager in the same territory for the Brookline Manufacturing Company, and still later for the Buick Motor Company, for the same district. He was the owner of the Washington Buggy Company, of Washington, Pennsylvania, which was under the management of his brother, D. K. Sarver, and Jacob Wyant. Mr. Sarver also owned a half-interest in the Diamond Automobile Company, of Pittsburgh, and was also officially connected and personally interested in financial institutions. He was a member and a trustee of the First Presbyterian Church at Butler.
