General Notes: Husband - John Ross

---

He was a native of New Jersey, and in early life learned the shoemaker's trade, which he principally followed throughout his business career. As a young man he went to Centre County, Pennsylvania, where he was married, and about 1833 took up his residence in Clearfield County, near McGee's Mills. In the spring he followed piloting on the river for many years, the rest of his time being devoted to his trade.
