General Notes: Husband - Frederick Barnhart


He was a farmer all his life and was a man of high standing in his community, a supporter of the schools and a deacon and elder in the Reformed Church. He held a number of public of­fices in the township. In his early political life he was a Whig, but later became iden­tified with the Republican party.
He and his wife had six children, four of them died young.
