of Revolutionary ancestors, he later settled in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

He came from the north of Germany, having gone there from England. In 1750 he located at Reading, Pennsylvania, on land purchased from the Penns. Later the Pools settled in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.
