General Notes: Husband - John William Barnhart


He was born in Germany and in 1764, when he was eighteen years old, he left his native land and came to America. He settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

He settled on a farm several miles east of Greensburg, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, about 1774. His brother Jacob settled near by. Both were prominently connected with the early history of the county. His church was the special interest of William, who was one of the founders of the First Reformed Church of Greensburg.
