General Notes: Husband - Thomas Hicks "Hicks", "Hix" Prather, Jr.

He had three sons with his first wife and nine children with the second.
He was in the War of 1812 and possibly the Mexican War as well. He ran a gristmill on Hickory Creek for a few years.

He was buried in the Prather Cemetery on his farm (some people call it the Henderson Cemetery because James Henderson married Nancy Louise Prather and they owned the farm after Thomas Hicks Prather, Jr. had died. But the 3 Hendersons in that cemetery were moved to the cemetery behind the East Hickory Methodist Church.)
He inherited the farm of 100 acres from his father. He then bought the Peters farm of about 90 acres and he operated a Gristmill on Hickory Creek for a number of years. The cemetery is located on the land bought from Peters so his father and mother can't be in that cemetery because it didn't exist until the 1850's.

General Notes: Wife - Unknown

Her surname could possibly have been "Layton".
