General Notes: Husband - David Ray


He moved with his parents to Canal township, Venango county, PA, when a child, learned the blacksmith trade with his father, and followed it in various parts of the state. October 26, 1861, he enlisted in Company H, Fourth Pennsylvania Cavalry, and was honorably discharged July 1, 1865. He was sergeant of the company and received wounds at Harper’s Ferry. He was connected with Andrew Jackson Post, No. 299, G. A. R., of Cooperstown, and a member of the borough council.
