General Notes: Husband - Robert Quaill

A few years after his marriage, owing to political disturbances, they bade farewell to their beloved Erin, and in December, 1798, landed in America. They first settled in Washington County, Pennsylvania, but in 1809 removed to Ross township, Allegheny County, where they lived until 1816, when they settled on what came to be known, far and near, as the "Quaill farm," adjoining the land of the later borough of Bellevue.
Robert Quaill was a fine scholar, well educated in the higher branches, and was one of the first teachers in the county of Allegheny. He spent the latter years of his life as a tutor to the sons of wealthy planters in the south, where he contracted the fever and died.
