General Notes: Husband - Henry Sefton

He was born in Antrim county, Ireland, and was reared to manhood in his native land. He immigrated to Pennsylvania when a young man, and in 1796 purchased a farm, then in Buffalo, but now in Clinton township, Butler county, containing 200 acres of unimproved land. The same year he married, erected a cabin in the unbroken forest, and there the young couple began their married life. He was offered an adjoining tract for his rifle, but refused the offer, considering the rifle of more value than the land. He and his wife were members of the Union church. In politics he was first a Whig and afterwards a Democrat, and filled the office of township collector and other minor positions.
