General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Ramage

When the rush to California captured his imagination, he fell victim to the gold fever, but instead of making the trip across the prairies, as was the case with most of the "forty-niners," he went by boat to the Isthmus of Panama, and when he felt justified in terming himself a successful pioneer he returned by the same route. On coming back to Pennsylvania he settled at New Brighton, Beaver County, where his son, Samuel Young Ramage, was born. Soon after this event he moved to Enon Valley, in Pennsylvania.
