He attended the Beaver Falls High School. His professional training was obtained at the Medical School of the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his Medical degree in the class of 1908. After he had served for a year as interne at South Side Hospital, Dr. Ramsey commenced his general practice of medicine and surgery in 1909 at Butler, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the board of directors of the Merchants' National Bank; and he was a Republican in his political convictions.
Dr. Ramsey's fraternal affiliations were with the Free and Accepted Masons; the Pittsburgh Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, thirty-second degree; and Syria Temple, Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; and his professional affiliations are those of the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania State Medical Association, and the Butler County Medical Association; and he was a member of the Sterling Club, and the Butler County Country Club. His religious faith was that of the Presbyterian Church.
