Rostraver Twp, Westmoreland Co, PA

He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he remained until the age of twenty-five. He then married, and for eight years thereafter was employed by Frick & Company in Fayette County, coming then to a farm in Rostraver township, Westmoreland County, which he had purchasd of his wife's uncle, Ebenezer Finley. Mr. Stacy later purchased another property, formerly known as the Joseph Power farm. The history of this place possesses a peculiar interest. It was inherited by Joseph Power from his mother, Mrs. Frances (Finley) Power, whose mother, Margaret Finley, was the only daughter of the Rev. James Finley. Mr. Stacy had ninety-eight acres of the Power farm, and he made a number of improvements, in the house and barn and in the entire place. His farm was one of the most desirable in the township, Mr. Finley having been able to choose his land from an extensive territory. The principles of the Republican party always had in Mr. Stacy a staunch advocate and upholder. For some years he filled the office of supervisor, the only public office he would consent to hold.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church of West Newton, Pennsylvania. She became at a very early age her father's housekeeper and homemaker, her mother having died when she was a child.
