General Notes: Husband - James Barr

---

He received a good common school education, and was a farmer all his life. Both he and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church, in which denomination he was a trustee for a number of years, and also filled the office of deacon. In politics, he was a stanch Repub­lican, filled the office of justice of the peace for ten years, and was a school director for the same length of time.
