Ray E. Rote, 72, of Punxsautawney died Thursday morning in Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1909, in Van, a son of Frank H. and Lenora McIntosh Rote.
He was married to Dee Redding on May 5, 1934, and she survives.
Mr. Rote was retired as a foreman for United Natural Gas Co.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Punsxatawney, the Masonic Lodge of Wilcox and Coudersport Consistory.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three brothers, Robert of Smethport, Harold of Glendale, Calif., and Scott of Diamond Bar, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Grove of Mesa, Ariz., Marian Oaks of Van and Mrs. Helen Weidner of Clarion; and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Frank H. Rote, his parnets and one brother.
Funeral services at the graveside.
Interment - Mount Zion Cemetery, Maple Shade
