General Notes: Husband - Harry W. Reeves

He was educated in the local public schools. For some time he was connected with the Cutlery Works, part of the time as superintendent, which had been established in Beaver Falls by the Economy Society, John Reeves, Henry Taylor Reeves, and Henry Hice. The concern attracted nation-wide attention, when, owing to thefts of cutler by employees and dissatisfaction leading to a strike, the company suffered considerable loss of money, John Reeves introduced Chinese labor and reduced the payroll from $13,000 to $5,000 a month, with greater production. Finally eastern capital bought the company. Harry W. Reeves, as a director, was interested in the Bridgewater Bridge, the Fallston Bridge, and, in fact in all the bridge companies of Beaver Valley. For over twenty years he was a member of the John T. Reeves Company, in charge of the insurance department. He was also a director of the John T. Reeves Bank.
A Republican in politics, Mr. Reeves served two terms as member of the City Council. He was a member of Beaver Falls Lodge, No. 478, Free and Accepted Masons; of New Castle Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, having received the thirty-second degree; and of Syria Temple, Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was among the members of the Ellwood Country Club. A communicant of the Methodist Protestant Church, he was president of the board of trustees and devoted a great deal of time and energy to church affairs.
