General Notes: Husband - Adam Remaley

He was a farmer by occupation, and in connection with this owned and operated several grist and saw mills, and dealt extensively in lumber. He served in the militia of Pennsylvania for some time as a lieutenant. He was a Democrat in politics.

After his death his son Samuel inherited the farm and mills he had owned and operated. The first mill he had operated was an old water power mill, which was later remodelled and which was operated for thirty-one years, at the expiration of which time, February, 1900, it was destroyed by fire, but later re-built.

He was reared by his uncle, Henry Remaley, and upon the death of the latter he inherited his property. He was an enterprising and successful business man of his day, and at the time of his decease was the owner of about three hundred and seventy-seven acres of land, a large grist mill and saw mill at Murrysville, a grist mill and saw mill at Manordale, and a saw mill on the farm whereon Anthony Remaley, his son, resided. He served as lieutenant in the Pennsylvania militia for a number of years. He was a Democrat in politics. [HWC 1906 III, 428]
