General Notes: Husband - Dr. Charles Jenkins Kenly

For many years he was a practicing physician of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He left that city and came to Bell township, Westmoreland County, where he invested quite largely in real estate, and being wealthy lived a retired life. Ten years after his removal to Bell township he died from injuries received from being thrown from a horse, and his remains were interred in the churchyard at Murraysville, Pennsylvania. He and his wife were the parents of five children\emdash three daughters and two sons\emdash who grew to manhood and womanhood. [Another source says, four and one]

He was a practicing physician of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; leaving there in 1830 he came to Franklin township, Westmoreland County, where he lived a retired life for many years. He inherited great wealth, was a luxurious liver, liberal in all his dealings and lost many thousand dollars by endorsing for his friends. When at about sixty-five years of age his horse threw him and he died from the injuries received. Although fond of high living and open-handed in his hospitality he left considerable wealth to his family.
