General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Rist

He was a farmer by occupation.

He went to California in 1849 and obtained a great deal of gold, most of which he lost. In 1860 he made another trip, going "around the Horn." On his return he settled down to coal mining, and in later years to market gardening.
