He was a minister of the Presbyterian Church, and was appointed president of Jefferson College, at Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and at the same time had the care of the Pigeon Creek Congregation. He removed from Washington County to near Indianapolis, Indiana, where he died.
