General Notes: Husband - J. Walter Bartley


He was born in the old log house in Oakland township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and remained with his parents until August 29, 1864. He then enlisted in Company K, Fifth Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery for service in the Civil War. He served until July 4, 1865, on which date he was mustered out at Camp Reynolds. He returned home and then engaged in farming. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church, of Butler.
