General Notes: Husband - Rev. Henry Warren Roth, D.D.

He was a man of vigorous activity all his life, and far from retiring at three-score and ten, he celebrated the arrival of that birthday by delivering an eloquent sermon before the congregation at Greenville, Pennsylvania, of which he had many years before been pastor. For many years he was been one of the leaders of the Lutheran church in America; was associated in church and educational work with Dr. Passavant, and after leaving the presidency of Thiel College was active in founding the great hospital and theological school in Chicago that bore the name of Passavant. In the Lutheran seminary at Chicago he held the chair of church history and practical theology, and for more than forty years his most effective work was in connection with education.
