General Notes: Husband - John David Runninger

He was born either shortly before or after the death of his father. John Sherman was appointed his guardian in the second term of Orphan's Court in 1859. His mother remarried to Major George McClelland, and John David was raised in the McClelland household, which was also on the George-town Road, French Creek Township, Venango County.

He was a writer and the editor of the Venango County Spectator newspaper. He later lived in Franklin. He was said to have been very intelligent and to have written some very nice poetry.
