General Notes: Husband - Andrew Stewart

During the year 1798, he moved from Northumberland County, PA, to the farm in Cherry Township, Butler County, later owned by his son David. [HBC 1883, 425]

He came from England, was a well educated man, and taught music. In Juniata County, PA, he married Mary Russell, a native of Ireland, who lived along the Juniata river before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stewart were among the early settlers in Butler County, PA.

Her parents removed from Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, in 1798, in company with Andrew Stewart's family, and settled the same year in what was afterward known as Scrub Grass Township, Venango County. [HBC 1883, 425] (This quotation may refer to the Perry family, parents-in-law of Charles Stewart.)
