General Notes: Husband - John H. Trescher, Sr.

He and his wife were both natives of Germany, who came to America in 1849 and settled in Cumberland, Maryland. He was a machinist and farmer. He possessed a good common school education, belonged to the Reformed church. He removed to Eckert, Allegheny County, Maryland, where for eighteen years he followed the trade of machinist, working at engine building. He afterwards purchased a farm and devoted his attention to fruit culture and stock-raising. Then for over twelve years he lived a retired life at Forstburg, Maryland
