General Notes: Husband - James Scott

He was born on the home farm in Mt. Pleasant township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, receiving his education in the district schools of the neighborhood.
He and his wife first lived on a farm adjoining their later home until 1880, when they removed to the neighboring place of 150 acres which they then occuppied. The tract had been in the family name since 1805, being originally a part of the George Washington survey. It also contained a producing oil well, which yielded from seventy-five to eighty barrels of oil per day. He and his wife were members of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, of which he was ruling elder.
