General Notes: Husband - John Philip Seibert


He was educated at the public schools and at the Chambersburg Academy. He studied medicine with Dr. John C. Richards, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and was graduated at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in March, 1875. He then practiced his profession in his native town. In 1876, he began to make a specialty of vaccination. He propagated vaccine from the cow for several years, the business being known as the Franklin Vaccine Farm. He supplied vaccine to the profession and was well known to physicians all over the country in this line. He was physician to the Franklin County jail, 1877-80, and to the Almshouse, 1883-90. He was Health Officer of Chambersburg beginning in 1896, and was a school director for Chambersburg for eighteen consecutive years. He was an active and ardent Republican. Professionally, he was a member of the Franklin County Medical Society. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and was one of the officers of the church for twelve years or more.
