The ancestors of this family were among the early German Mennonite settlers of Pennsylvania, coming there in 1683.

The first of the name Sensenich came to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1683, and from that time on members of the family have been prominently identified with the development and progress of Pennsylvania.

The first member of the Sensenich family born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was Christian Sensenich, who resided in Lancaster County during the entire period of his life and made himself a prominent citizen there.
