Coulters, Allegheny Co, PA

Previous to his marriage to Deborah Snyder Shaw, he had served a year in the army, and afterward he enlisted, in 1864, in Co. F, 5th H. A., serving another year. After the war he worked at his trade, that of carpenter, until he lost two fingers, and then in 1878 he went into commercial business, becoming a successful merchant.
